Time for a Spring Sabbatical

I have truly been lamenting over this for a while now. My hearts desire is to stay current and maintain my blog on a regular basis, however the "things" (as we'll call them) of my life right now do not afford me the time I need to keep it current and that deeply saddens me!

I suppose it would be fair to say that I am a little "blue" about it. Truth be told, I had such high hopes of being a "ummm, hmmm, not even sure what to call it" kind of blogger ~ you know the kind who other's refer their friends to check out because it's so umm. hmmm, amazing, unique, ummm can't even decide how to say it.

I've been trying to sort out my reasons for blogging in the first place. Indeed it all started to keep family/friends updated as to the status of our adoption and here we are 2 year 2 months later and at times it's merged into more about the US than about HER. I have several blogger friends who have found this themselves and have decided to begin new blogs focusing on their WHOLE family. It may come to this for me, but for now until the "things" begin to sort out and a sense of calm come underway, I'm afraid I am going to have to take a "Spring Sabbatical". What does that mean exactly, well, I WILL post if there is anything new to post about our adoption (or of course anything cool enough worth reporting), otherwise I will be pretty quiet for a while. I WILL check my comments section for those who do leave them, as I WILL check in on my blogger friends whenever I get a chance.

I am so blessed by each of my blogger friends and the opportunity to share in their lives - to them I say Thank You! And if you think about it, please pray for the sale of our 5 puppies (they are currently 7.5 weeks old and almost ready to go to their new homes) as this will be part of the way we will be able to take our 3 sons with us to China to get our daughter/their baby sister.

Seeing Easter with new eyes

This video has completely changed my view of Easter, hopefully forever!
We watched this during Senior High Youth group on Thursday evening and the one thing that struck myself as well as my senior high girls was that we have never stopped to think about what God himself must have felt sacrificing His son. The grief, anguish, loss, suffering...take a look and see what you think.

Playdate & Puppies

What a GREAT day it was today. The sky was grey, the clouds emitted a constant dripping array of WETNESS all over. You know the kind of day where no matter how long you managed to spend on your hair, it really doesn't matter cause of the frizz factor that takes effect, 25 seconds after leaving the house.

No, really it was a GREAT day as I got to spend the afternoon with one of my new friends and it was so much fun. In fact some of you may even recognize her. Yes, K1 and I got to spend the afternoon together talking about Honduras, China, computers, puppies and of course handcuffs! Yes, I said handcuffs as my boys had a great fascination with one of K1's 'employment' tools. Thankfully the key was close by (thanx K1).

So here is a little commemorative of our time...don't they look cute?!
They are for sale you know??? Hmmm, I do mean the puppies, sorry K1.

My...Oh...My!!! 977 days

Congratulations to those families receiving their referrals.

Word is that matches have arrived and calls are being made for families who have been logged in from 12/28/2005 through 1/4/2006.

Oh My Gosh! That means they are finally matching into OUR month.
Shock and awe is the best way to describe the feeling at this point. It was beginning to feel like it was never going to happen. I really didn't expect them to match into Jan '06 until April - and yet...surprise, surprise, surprise. That means only 23 log in dates ahead of ours - Yahoo! So what does that mean now!
Well, if they continue to match 8 days each month here is what it would look like:
April 2008 = 1/5/06-1/12/06
May 2008 = 1/13/06-1/20/06
June 2008 = 1/21/06=1/28/06 ***This would be ours!!!

AND...Can you believe it's taken the CCAA 977 days (that's 2.67 years or 33 months) to match families who have been logged in just during the year 2005! My heart goes out to ALL of us who have endured this incredibly long wait.
I know it's "good things come to those that wait" but I think it's more fitting to say "Amazing things come to those that wait"!
