Stranded, marooned, S.O.S.! These are all words to describe our current state of being. It wasn't enough to be subject to extreme winter snow weather we suffered during the last 2 weeks of December, now we are flooded in with no roads out - okay correction, as of 1pm today there is only 1 way in/out of our tiny little town we call home.
The Snoqualmie River, which runs through our little valley set a record this morning at 62.31 feet beating the old record back in November 2006.
A few from one of the upper streets over looking the valley.
The "river" is between the first bridge post and the second you see here on the right. All of the rest is overflow.
This bridge is one of the main roads leading out of town and it has been closed since yesterday early morning. Posts today by the city state that this road will remain closed through the weekend due to damage to the road/surroundings from the flood. They will re-evaluate on Monday whether or not the road can be opened.
The other "main" road out of town looks like this:

So, can I just say how fed up I am with all this weather related road conditions we have. I would settle at this point for something quite mild.
***Stop by K1's site to see what our "closed" road really looks like - truly unbelievable.

Oh Yuck!!! I wondered if you were having flood issues! I am sorry, I am sick of the weather too...here's hoping you dry out soon!!
Flooding is the ONE weather related issue I don't need to worry about living at the top of the hill.
Bear Creek rose over it's banks, but didn't affect the roads. The way the Snoqualamie Slough runs, it never affects the roads, luckily.
Hope the waters recede quickly. Poor Mav has been working LONG hours in the Emergency Operation Center up in Snohomish, trying to keep track of floods, broken dikes, wash outs, mud slides, and the like.
I sympathize...
Growing up along the Mississippi River we experienced annual spring floods once the snows started melting north of us. The Missouri river and Ohio river each dumping their swollen waters into the Mississippi always seemed to test our levee system.
Hopefully you'll keep your one road in and out!!!

NO WAY. What horrible weather you're having. We live near a river and I can't believe how high it gets several times a year. Kind of scary!
Glad you're all safe and dry!
